Crossing the bridge from Malaysia into Singapore was like stepping into another world. Suddenly, traffic laws and pedestrian crossings were obeyed, sidewalks lined the streets, people waited in lines, and the air and streets were noticeably cleaner. A Day of Food in Ljubljana
I have always wanted to do a food tour. I’ve heard so much about them from friends and fellow travellers expressing what a great way they are to experience a new city/country. We looked into it in Venice but it was insanely expensive. So, the next day we scheduled a food tour through old town Ljubljana with “ljubljananjam.” The company is a one-woman show; Iva was enthusiastic and energetic, she clearly loves her job as much as she loved food. Paradise at the end of a Dirt Road (Semuc Champey)
Off the main highway, but definitely part of the tourist route through Guatemala, lies Semuc Champey. It’s a good stopping point between Antigua and Flores (a twelve to twenty hour journey), although about a two and a half detour from the highway. Continue reading
